Management Systems Consulting LLC (herein referred to as MSC) is a niche consulting firm that specializes in the “adaptation” of marine systems to fit various marine operators’ needs. It has been found that the suppliers of the marine systems have very little expertise in making these “generic” systems fit the specific requirements of operators, nor do they have the desire to do so, as their business is primarily based in volume rather than day to day relationships. MSC has a slightly different approach; our work concentrates in a number of areas. First and foremost, it concentrates on the adaptation of these systems to fit within the operational regime in which they are placed. This involves taking experiences from all clients and applying them to all of the work that we do. This is irregardless of the system, whether it is SafeNet, AMOS, Maximo, Peoplesoft, etc…. The marine industry has one thing in common with the users, and that is the marine industry, which is quite unique. Being able to share these experiences between clients of all types of software greatly benefits companies in terms of providing the best service with the least amount of cost and hassle, as many of the problems have been solved at other sites and the customers are the beneficiaries. MSC also develops tools/add-ons which allow these systems to be extended in ways never thought possible. Other areas where MSC consults is in the selection of these operational packages for those owners who do not have in place a system. This involves process audits and business analyses to aid in the selection/criteria for new systems. MSC also performs operational audits in support of financial transactions and continuous improvement initiatives. As you will find out, our service is geared towards a personal approach and involves a commitment on part of the client to provide full and unfettered access and channels of open and frank discussion. MSC has turned down work previously when these areas were not fulfilled, as it is our policy to not take on a project which we believe will not be successful.
