Mission and Goals The French Shippers' Council (Association des Utilisateurs de Transport de Fret) represents industry and traders as good transport users. Nowadays, international competition drives industry to control not only their production but the way they obtain the raw material for their factories and the way they supply their final clients. The whole supply chain needs to be efficient to maintain a strong industry in Europe in general and in France in particular. It is a major competitiveness issue. To achieve that goal, AUTF has got four missions: To inform its members To represent them in front of national and regional public authorities To raise the profile of transport and logistics in industrial companies To offer its members many occasions to exchange experiences and knowledge French Shippers' Council deals with all the means of transport: Road Rail Inland waterways Air Maritime Influence in Europe Transport issues not only concern the national frame, many important decisions are taken by European authorities. That is the reason why national action of the French Shippers' Council needs to be reinforced by actions on a European level.
