Lone Star opened in January 1997 to serve the growing transportation needs of Houston's energy market. Two years after opening Lone Star joined forces with R.S. Platou to form Lone Star R.S. Platou. Lone Star RS Platou has grown into one of the leading brokers houses in the US conducting business in all market segments from ULCC's to Handymaxes, Crude oil, Products, Chemicals, LPG, LNG and CNG.
