Furetank Rederi AB today own and run four highly modern product / chemicaltankers. The company is owned by the third generation Höglund. Furetank Rederi AB has a long tradition of shippning, with its roots in joint ownerships in the Gothenburg archipelago at the end of the 18th century. The objective of Furetank Rederi AB is to run a high-level industrial shipping concerning safety, environment, cargo, ships and personel. That's why the company in close co-operation with Søviknes Verft A/S and FKAB Naval Architects has designed and built both ship (M/T Furevik, M/T Furenäs) to high technical and safety standards at Søviknes Verft in Norway M/T Fure Sun and M/T Fure Star was bought in 2001 on the second-handmarket and buildt at Siong Huat Shipyard, Singapore 1994/1995 after the same principals as M/T Furevik and M/T Furenäs. Matters of engineering/crewing/finance is handled from the office located on Donsö in the southern archipelago of Gothenburg, Sweden. Chartering is managed by Nordtank Shipping A/S in Holbeck, Denmark.

Ten years later the first vessel was built for transport of petroleum products. When"Anna-Maria" was launched in 1929 she was one of the first specially bunker boats built in Sweden. Such were the origins of the family tradition which gradually resulted in Tärntank Rederi AB.
