The Trinidad and Tobago National Petroleum Marketing Company is a state- owned company which began operations in August 1972. It was established when the state, at various times between 1972-1977, purchased the retail marketing assets of BP (Caribbean) Limited, ESSO Standard Oil, Shell and Texaco Trinidad Limited. Today, NP, with a network of 215 Service Stations and a staff of 590, is the sole marketer of petroleum fuels in Trinidad and Tobago.
