The two product service lines that historically have helped maritime companies and self insured employers save millions of dollars has been, 1. Medical Nurse Case Management - where we receive notification of the injury claim within the first 24 hours and the nurse coordinates all the medical care advising our clients on the course of the medical portion of the claim. The benefits resulting in an earlier release to full duty or obtaining medical information early in the claim so that the employer or shipowner can be pre-warned if the injured party cannot go back to work or in the case of a passenger outlining and controlling reasonable rehabilitation costs. 2. On the back end of the claim there is Medical Bill Auditing, this is done by our Med-Check division, by nurses who review medical records, who search for CPT codes errors and look to alleviate any fraud or over exaggeration in medical billing. We audit all medical services of any kind in every state. The plaintiff attorneys in the U.S. along with a small portion of medical providers have been working together to escalate medical damages related to maritime accident claims. The Federal Jones Act and The Federal Long Shore Act does not limit liability awards on maritime claims and therefore it has become an arena for fraud and abuse. The maritime industry can defend against these claims with the proper use of medical cost containment services.

Our shops in Houston, Texas and Florence, Italy fabricate, assemble, and test each package using procedures certified to ISO 9000 standards. Extensive research and development, modern manufacturing techniques, and on-site experience contribute to our success. We provide single-source responsibility for package design, manufacturing, operations, training, and support, so you do not have to qualify hundreds of vendors and prepare specifications for all of the components in a generator package or mechanical drive unit. In addition, we provide an overhaul guarantee and warranty for the complete package. Our factory packaging concept ensures quick delivery and fast startup. Standardized designs shorten our manufacturing schedule. A large number of essentially identical packages are always under construction, giving us the flexibility to meet your delivery requirements—often less than 100 days. Your unit arrives ready for startup. All major components are base-plate mounted to simplify transportation and installation. No lengthy field setup is required. Our gas turbine packages use an earthquake-qualified structural design, durable electrical systems, and all-stainless steel fluid systems and reservoirs. Redundant, oversized fans keep turbine compartments cool, while generators sized larger than the turbine output accommodate future rating increases. This conservative design philosophy reflects your expectation to operate the package for 20 to 30 years. Learn more about GE Aero Energy Products by reviewing our event schedule or perusing our literature library.

It was 50 years ago Liberia's maritime program opened its doors to the world's shipping community. Within no time that community responded quickly, and in three months the 29,000dwt tanker World Peace, a large vessel by the standards of her day, had become the first ocean going merchant vessel to fly Liberia's star and stripes. Those 50 years have seen the fleet grow until today it stands at being one of the largest registries in the world. Today's position has as its foundation the high standards set and maintained during those 50 years. Liberia has often led the world in introducing new standards of safety and in implementing new international codes and conventions, and the flag is recognized as being the Premier of the open registry. The registry has a reputation for quality, efficiency, safety, and service. Liberia also offers one of the most convenient, efficient, and tax effective offshore corporate registries in the world. Administration is being updated to become more efficient and legislation is being reviewed in our efforts to make Liberia still more attractive to the ship owner without losing sight of the high standards we have set. The registry has offices in Vienna Virginia, USA, New York, Piraeus Greece, Hong Kong, London, Monrovia, Zurich and Tokyo.

The Marine Technology Society was incorporated in June, 1963 to allow members of academia, government and industry to have a common forum for the exchange of information and ideas, and to "make real contributions in fostering progress in the marine sciences for the benefit of mankind". Early corporate members included General Dynamics, Raytheon and Oceanographic Engineering Corporation, among others. In its formative years, the Society developed its technical committees structure, a call for at least one annual conference, and peer-reviewed publications. Early Technological Committees included Underwater Photography, Marine Biology, Undersea Vehicles, Education and Careers in the Marine Sciences, Oceanographic Data and Information, Oceanographic Instrumentation, and Mineral Resources. Today, the Marine Technology Society boasts a membership of businesses, institutions, individual professionals, and students. The MTS Journal is published quarterly, and is considered among the most prestigious peer-reviewed journals in the marine technology and sciences community. The Society has four Technical Divisions, over twenty-five technical committees, and hosts several conferences yearly. We invite you to visit the Marine Technology Society's early years, 1963 through 1988, by reading The Marine Technology Society, Highlights of Twenty Five Years of Service. MISSION: To deliver a reliable, efficient and cost-effective network of Aids to Navigation for the benefit and safety of all Mariners. The Northern Lighthouse Board's principal concern is with safety: the safety of the mariner at sea; the safety of our own people employed in or around some of the world's most dangerous coastlines; and the safety of environment in which we, and those who come after us, must live and work. The Northern Lighthouse Board has long been at the forefront of navigational technology. The programme to automate all major lighthouses was successfully completed on 31 March 1998. The Board completed the conversion of all its statutory lit buoyage to solar power in 1997. Thereafter, an ongoing programme of modernisation and overhaul will continue well into the 21st Century. The Board has always prided itself on its efficiency and cost effectiveness. For the future, it aims to provide a reliable, low-maintenance and cost-effective network of Aids to Navigation, backed by a safe, efficient and professional support organisation. The joint General Lighthouse Authorities' policy is based on the continuing requirement for the foreseeable future for a base-level of traditional visual aids to navigation, in the form of lights, beacons and buoyage, but a decreasing reliance of these "traditional" aids to navigation and an increasing reliance on high-precision radio aids. The Joint GLAs' policy also provides a mechanism for the ongoing review of tasking and policies.

The Protection of the Arctic Marine Environment Working Group (PAME) is one of six Arctic Council working groups. PAME was first established under the 1991 Arctic Environmental Protection Strategy and was continued by the 1996 Ottawa Charter that established the Arctic Council. PAME is the focal point of the Arctic Council's activities related to the protection and sustainable use of the Arctic marine environment. It has a specific mandate to keep under review the adequacy of global and regional legal, policy and other measures, and where necessary to make recommendations for improvements that would support the Arctic Council's Arctic Marine Strategic Plan (2004). PAME carries out activities as set out in bi-annual work plans approved by the Arctic Council on the recommendation of the Senior Arctic Officials. These activities led by PAME include circumpolar and regional action programmes and guidelines complementing existing legal arrangements aimed at protection of the Arctic marine environment from both land and sea-based activities. The Permanent Participants (Indigenous Organizations) of the Arctic Council participate actively in the work of PAME. PAME works in close collaboration with the other five Arctic Council Working Groups.
