When Captain A.N. Petersen came ashore in 1920 and founded the company bearing his name, he was regarded as a forerunner. His skill and diligence formed the background upon which the company was built and prospered. He was also able to create a unique company spirit, of which we are proud. Captain A.N. Petersen's influence and contribution to the company's success has continued since his death in 1941. We are proud that a number of the people working with A.N. Petersen have been serving the company for many years. We are equally proud to have young enthusiastic people joining and staying with us, thereby ensuring the future of the company. In the early years A.N. Petersen enjoyed a close association with A/S Det Dansk-Franske Dampskibsselskab, as well as being managing owners for several Danish shipping companies. Our competitive chartering also formed an important part of the company's activities in the early days. However, like other professions, shipping often and rapidly changes patterns and in 1979 the brokers of the company took over the ownership. A.N. Petersen then became a wholly independent competitive shipbrokering company enjoying the experience of the past, progressive ideas of the present, and belief in the future.
