Company Description DMC is organized into two business segments - the Explosive Metalworking Group and the Aerospace Group. The Aerospace Group is comprised of two divisions, AMK Welding and Spin Forge. AMK Welding is a leading welding company that utilizes a number of welding technologies to precision-weld exotic materials and complex shapes for manufacturers of jet engines and ground-base turbines. Spin Forge is a fully integrated manufacturing company involved in the precision machining, metal fabrication, welding, non-destructive testing and assembly of aerospace and tactical missile components. Spin Forge's products include motor cases for ground-to-ground and ground-to-air tactical missiles and titanium pressurant vessels for missile systems and launch vehicles. Company History In the late 1960s, Dynamic Materials Corporation (DMC) started an explosion metal forming business that shaped blank sheets of metal alloys into complex three- dimensional parts for aerospace equipment manufacturers. DMC became a publicly traded company in 1976 under the ticker symbol “BOOM” and shortly thereafter licensed technology from E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company (“DuPont”) to explosively bond, or clad, two or more dissimilar metal plates together. EPS engineers perform a detailed asset inspection that identifies the problem areas; then they develop well and surface network models that describe optimum results; finally, they implement online systems that monitor and optimize hundreds of critical parameters. The ability to gather and interpret data online as well as implement many of the changes electronically, allows extremely complex tasks to be performed effectively with minimum manpower and expense. We call this approach to sustainable production optimization, Intelligent Asset Management (i-AM). We've been developing the technology and processes to support i-AM for the past three years and have proven its value in three implementations to date.
